This was sitting there in the sun on a mostly overcast day. I liked the lines, the shadows and the contrast.

Another trip to Northfield, MN, this time with the new camera. I thoroughly enjoyed the 5D. There is quite a bit of difference between the 5D and the Rebel XTi. I really need to get used to it. My fingers seem trained to go for the buttons and settings in the configuration of the XTi. Both are very intuitive but I’m used to the old way.

I recently acquired a Canon EOS 5D! It’s a camera I’ve been watching for a long time. I am still practicing with it (OK, taking random shots of my dog) trying to get a hang of the wider selection of ISO settings, better focus options and general FUN of it. It is a much bigger camera physically. It seems to fit my hand better than the XTi.
I will get a new picture posted asap.

Another trip to the park. This is our favorite park. The wind and clouds were just right for this flag.
1/1600 at F/8.0 ISO 2000. I cropped and applied some vignetting to it. Is vignetting a word?

A colorful picture of a butterfly. Taken in very bright sunlight with a Canon 28-75mm lens all the way in to 75mm. 1/4000 second at F2.8 ISO 100.

We took a drive to Northfield, Minnesota yesterday. Very pretty town. We have to go back sometime when we can get there a bit earlier so we can look around a bit more. Spotted a few places that will be nice in the golden hours that we have to see. Maybe stop for a beer while we wait for the sun to go down or get the shots, then stop for a pastry and coffee in the morning!
